When spouses are offered career opportunities in different locations, they may choose to live apart. Some evidence suggests that this is happening more than ever before. HBR executive editor Ania Wieckowski talked with Danielle Lindemann, a sociologist at Lehigh University and the author of Commuter Spouses (ILR Press, 2019), to find out how these couples manage.
